Patterns are designs that show the same thing over and over. When shapes or colors are repeated, we see a pattern. Some patterns are made by people, and some can be seen in the world around us. Some patterns are made with colors and lines. Other patterns are made with words or numbers or sounds. What patterns can you see and hear?

Have you seen the all the colors of the rainbow? When do we see a rainbow in the sky? What does it tell us about the weather? Bright pretty colors can cheer us up, when we are feeling unhappy. The class in this story used rainbow colors and dress-up costumes to have fun.

Cats like to hide, and sometimes they get lost. Everyone in Grace's family helped her to hunt for Leo when he was missing. They tried to cheer her up when she was unhappy. Where do you think Leo was hiding?

Can you go fast? Do you run fast? How can you have a fast ride? What are some things that can go fast? Which animals can go fast?

Do you know what pirates look like? Where do they go? What do they do? Why? In this story, there is a good pirate called Smiler, who has a parrot called Stickybeak. They play a clever trick on the bad pirates.

The animals in this story were very hungry. The Three Billy Goats Gruff wanted to cross over a bridge to eat some delicious grass. But an ugly, hungry troll lived under the bridge. How could the goats get over the bridge?

Have you seen a big storm? Storms can bring all kinds of bad weather, like floods, avalanches and hailstorms. What else? They can do damage to trees and buildings. People have to stay inside when there is a bad storm.

Do you forget things sometimes? Have you ever forgotten your hat? Do you ever forget to take your lunch to school? What else do you forget?

Snakes live in many countries of the world. They belong to the group of animals called reptiles, which have cold blood and scaly skin. A snake is an unusual animal, because it has a simple body with no legs, just a skull and a bendy backbone. It looks like a head and one long tail, but it is not really a simple animal, as it can be dangerous.

We are living in the Space Age. What do we know about space? The Earth is our planet. It is in space with many other planets. Scientists are still discovering new planets. People have always seen the sun, the moon, and millions of stars. But now space is being explored. We can learn about the size of the planets and what it is like to travel in space.
