Description
A universal question is, why does God allow suffering in the world?I’m referring to all of it: the horrors of world wars, torture, innocent children starving, sex trafficking, and sexual abuse by those who should be protecting them. Women suffering from abusive husbands or vice versa, mistreatment and cruelty to animals, people dying of cancer, and the list goes on.Believe it or not the Bible provides the best answer ever given. In John 9:1-3, Jesus healed a man blind from birth. The disciples assumed he or someone in his family sinned and caused his loss of sight. It is true, sometimes a person sins and reaps the consequences. But Jesus explained this man’s inability to see was not because of him or his family’s sin. When Adam and Eve allowed sin to enter the world, their sin held the door wide open for death, pain, and sorrow to come in right behind them. The global consequences of sin resulted in this man’s blindness. In one hand a Christian holds on to hope through their salvation in Christ. But in the other hand is a brutal fact—the harsh reality of worldwide sin in a broken world. If you deny this truth, your faith in Christ and the Bible will slowly wither as you go through your own crisis. This book explains how I lived through the horror of walking with my beloved daughter through cancer in the cruelest circumstances, yet endured and survived with my faith in God’s goodness intact. My purpose in writing this book, is to allow you to walk in my shoes through riveting stories of injustice and evil, but then experience amazing victory in the middle of the pain.
